Currently, they are seeking an experienced Senior Graphic Designer, Packaging Prepress to join their in-house prepress and design team. This pivotal role involves preparing artwork for print on self-adhesive labels (flexo) and mono cartons (offset). The successful candidate will be responsible for translating customer artwork into technically perfect, production-ready files, ensuring zero errors and seamless press operations. Key tasks include receiving and reviewing artwork to identify potential issues such as low-resolution images, RGB elements, missing fonts, and unsafe zone infringements, subsequently communicating corrections to clients. You will build comprehensive print-ready files, incorporating CMYK, Pantone, and spot colour separations, trapping, overprint, knockouts, and setting up layers for special effects like foil and embossing. Additionally, preparing barcodes, QR codes, managing proofs, troubleshooting production issues, and setting standards for the department will be fundamental components of your role. Familiarity with Esko ArtPro+ or Automation Engine is highly desirable, along with proven experience in flexo and offset prepress within a labels or premium packaging environment.
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5 to 8 years' experience specifically within packaging prepress. A background in flexo and offset processes, along with a deep understanding of print file preparation, colour management, and production troubleshooting, is essential. Educational qualifications might include a Diploma or Degree in Printing Technology, though a strong portfolio of print-ready packaging files will weigh more heavily. Fluency in both English and Telugu is required, ensuring effective communication within diverse teams. Exposure to Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat (including preflight functionalities), CorelDRAW, and ideally Esko tools will set you apart. Experience overseeing or mentoring junior designers, coupled with a comprehensive knowledge of packaging-specific technical standards, will contribute to your suitability for this role.
