About the Role
We are seeking a highly accomplished Plant Director to lead the operations of their Sri Lanka facility. This pivotal role entails full ownership of the end-to-end production process, including printing, lamination, slitting, and pouch making. The successful candidate will be a strategic leader with a strong focus on operational efficiency, quality, and team development.
Key responsibilities include driving throughput improvements with a strong emphasis on managing constraints, ideally with a TOC (Theory of Constraints) mindset. The Plant Director will be tasked with achieving and maintaining an OTIF (On-Time, In-Full) performance, controlling costs per unit, and optimising trade-offs between overtime and inventory. Embedding quality-by-design principles to prevent defects at source, leading the adoption of advanced planning systems, and leveraging digital visibility and data discipline are also critical for success. A core objective will be achieving and sustaining a plant OEE of ≥ 60% without compromising flow or quality, alongside building a resilient leadership team to ensure long-term operational excellence.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of transforming dynamic and potentially unstable manufacturing operations into predictable, optimised systems. They will have at least a Master's degree or MBA in Operations Management, Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering Management. Extensive experience within the Packaging or Print sectors is highly preferred, with demonstrable success in managing multi-stage manufacturing processes and leading cross-functional teams.
Key accomplishments should include implementing lean or TOC methodologies, elevating plant OEE to industry benchmarks, and developing robust leadership pipelines. Excellent analytical skills, digital literacy, and a strategic mindset are essential, coupled with a passion for fostering continuous improvement and operational excellence. The candidate should also demonstrate strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to drive change within a diverse team environment.
